Let It Snow

October 28th, 2009 by Elizabeth · 1 Comment

You know you’re in Denver when it’s October 28th and a major winter storm hits.  That storm that hit you folks in Salt Lake has now come our way and only intensified. We’re supposed to get 9-14″.

Let’s just say this:

  • the storm wasn’t supposed to hit until midnight last night…by 9 pm everything was covered in a fresh blanket
  • it’s 6:50 am and forget the blanket it’s more like a comforter out there and the major part of the storm hasn’t even hit yet
  • several, if not all, schools in the metro area have CANCELLED school…I didn’t think that happened in this part of the woods because they can rough anything
  • the airport is already cancelling flights

In preparation for the storm, I got panicky that we needed to go to the grocery store. This is ironic because we have a grocery store in walking distance from our place. That’s neither here nor there. Anyway, I asked Husband to stop by the store on his way home from work so we would be prepared for our first “major” storm. Here’s what he picked up for our survival:

  • 2 gallons of milk
  • several apples
  • 2 boxes of saltine crackers
  • 1 bag of chips
  • 1 box of frozen corn dogs

That’s right, my man is an Eagle Scout…always be prepared. The great part about Husband’s job and being part of a virtual team is that he can work from home!

That’s the Cramer we all know and love! Good to see that he’s still using the culinary skills we all honed while at BYU. Only things missing are root beer and Pipeline pizza.
