Yesterday at church during class, one of our Sunbeams jumped out of his chair and declared that he needed to “pee.” I rushed him to the bathroom, gave him his privacy and he did his business. He came out of the stall and declared he had “some more pee in there.” So back in he went and did some more business.
He returned out of the stall again and thoughtfully said he needed to make a “stinky bomb in the potty.” To which I replied, “A Stinky What? Well, can you hold it? (class is almost out)” Sure enough, he couldn’t wait so back in he went.
I waited, and waited and WAITED. First bell rings signaling class is almost out, so I say “*** are you alright in there? Can you please hurry?” Five minutes later the second bell rings. I then recruited a friend to go tell Steven what was going on and to let the child’s parents come finish the job. Another five minutes pass and the child arrives out of the stall announcing he needed my help. Sure enough, in the potty there were plenty of “stinky bombs” to greet me and my sensitive prego tummy/smeller.
We came out of the bathroom and the child’s father was waiting. He told me to not hesitate to come and get him next time. Usually I can handle potty duty, but this turned into a 20 min. ordeal…so yes, Father of the Child, I will be coming to get you any time this youngster needs to go to the potty.
I know as a mother I’ll have many tales to tell such as this one and worse, but there’s something that makes it a little more difficult when it’s not your child/nephew.

2 potty stories from yesterday’s primary: #1: During sharing time, a member of the Bishopric asked all the kids “Has anyone here made a mistake?” to which a Sunbeam (not ours!) answered “Sometimes I make a mistake when I poop in my pants.” #2: I took our Sunbeam girls to the bathroom. One of them, instead of unlocking the door and coming out, slid under the door. Good times with the 3 year olds!
