Williamsburg & Jamestown

First, I need to apologize. Our blog has been extremely neglected. Prior to writing this post, I thought of a few excuses but will spare the space and rather, simply pick-up where we left off.

Husband and I loved being able to spend quality time with my parents. It was nice being able to spend more than a couple days with one another. Husband and Mom enjoyed a healthy banter the entire weekend (shocking, I know). Thanks Mom & Dad for being so hospitable and fun!

Friday morning we drove to Colonial Williamsburg to visit the colonialness of our country. It’s a beautiful place that is captured in the time period. I asked one “character” a question and he went on and on answering as if it were way back when. We spent the day perusing the lovely shops and picturesque streets adorned in colonial Christmas decor.

Saturday morning we drove just a few minutes away to Jamestown. Jamestown was one of the first major settlements. They’ve done a wonderful job of making Jamestown interactive and capturing the lifestyles of both the “settlers” and the Indians. We were lucky enough to visit during the food festival. We couldn’t try any of the food but all over the characters were preparing authentic dishes: fish & egg pie, pork & barley stew, etc. Jamestown was so fun and made you feel like you were experiencing how they lived.

We got home Saturday night with just enough time to watch the OU vs. OSU game. GO SOONERS! We were pooped:

You have such a great eye for things! Is it nerdy that I really enjoy your photos of random things?

Great post, I especially liked the arrangement of the pictures. Are you just using the web interface to do the post? Or are you using Live Writer or something else?
