What A Joy…

When Husband brings home flowers, and Fall ones at that, just because…

He picked them out all on his own and told me he had the hardest time, “Should I coordinate colors or petals?”

When “Dating” other couples finally pays off.

We’ve felt like with moving to an entirely new place, we’ve reverted back to our single days and had to start dating all over again, just with couples. We’ve met some very fun people and have multiple game nights and dinner parties to show for it. I forgot how stressful dating can be.

Going to the State Farmers’ Market to pick-out pumpkins and yummy treats.

Truth be told, Steven humored me and let us go to a small pumpkin farm (Bowman family tradition).  We pulled up to the quaint stand and field all excited to explore. I saw some pumpkins on display with monetary figures written on them. With the amount shown, I thought “Oh how neat, these are their ’special’ prized pumpkins you can buy.” Then I saw that they were displaying the prices for all of their pumpkins so when I saw the medium sized pumpkin said “$25″ surely it was “.25/lb” right? I mean, who pays TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS for ONE MEDIUM pumpkin? I was horrified and if we were multi-millionaires I would’ve loved to drop $50 for 2 pumpkins to help out the little couple, but for right now, it just wasn’t gonna happen. We acted like we left something in the trunk and left. Shameless.

Instead, Steven had the brilliant idea to go to one of our favorite places: The Farmers Market. We picked out three small pumpkins and two large, carving pumpkins and spent a significant less amount of money. We also bought some fresh hot-chili-sauce. Yum.

I wish there was a scale next this photo because these pumpkins were HUGE!

I’ve raved about the market to several family members, so I tried to take a few pictures to capture the essence of good ol’ farm fresh goodness.

Elizabeth - those meals look heavenly! I wish you lived next door so we could cook together.

P.S. I’ve always wondered what collared greens look like.

I love the farmer’s market! Dallas has the best farmer’s market I’ve ever been to, but this one looks like it could give it a run for it’s money. I’ll have to check it out the next time I’m in town.

I got halloween-shaped cookie cutters today, because it was something holiday-ish and domestic-ish that I could afford–all in the name of Elizabeth and trying to be more like you. Just how do you do it? As always, I am inspired by you!
