We had a whirl-wind weekend in Disney World and packed two days chock full, visiting four parks. Because we had so much fun, Steven and I decided that we both wanted to report on the adventure so we’re trying something a little different for this post.
Hello there, Readers! That’s right. Wife and I are tag teaming this post. And by tag-team I mean Wife writes the post and I just make snarky remarks.
After hourly weather checks prior to our departure, we boarded a plane and flew to Orlando, caught our cab, checked into our hotel and then boarded our shuttle to the Animal Kingdom.
And by cab, she’s just being modest. Try LINCOLN CONTINENTAL. Holla!
We had our tennis shoes double knotted, snacks packed and marked map in hand-no exaggeration. (Seriously. We’re not kidding.) Animal Kingdom is great; but there were only a few attractions that drew us in: Everest (the newest roller coaster) (Which is totally LAME. BOOOO) , Dinosaur(Scary) and the Kilimanjaro Safari.(For some reason the animals were just lying around. Where was the singing and coordinated dance numbers? That Lion King movie was totally bogus.) The rain was pouring down, but we seemed to time it perfectly and barely got wet. The Animal Kingdom sparked the Disney “feel” that can only be felt there. (Kinda feels like when you fall asleep on your arm and wake up and it’s tingly and stuff. Except it’s in your brain.) We kept to our strategy(Take no prisoners? No, wait…)-very proud of our prior planning-and headed to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, priorly known as MGM Studios.

Just two kids running around.

Me smiling through the pain of not seeing dancing animals
We had plenty of time at the Hollywood Studios, which was perfect. We took advantage of the Fast Pass and hit up the Tower of Terror (where we screamed like little girls) (Uh, no comment. You can’t prove anything), Aerosmith’s Rockin Roller Coaster (very back seat, you really get banged around) (Sooooo Rock n’ Roll), Drew Carey’s Laugh Show (Wah WAH) (I agree with Wife), Star Tours (yes, this was Steven’s Birthday trip) (Stars Wars Rooooooooolz!!!!!), Indiana Jones’ Stunt Show and the newest attraction: Toy Story’s Midway Madness, which had the LONGEST wait ever but was so worth it and we had so much fun! We even had time to have our first and ONLY roasted turkey leg (Unless there’s some apocalypse happening soon. You never know.) and ended with the Fantasmic show and an ice cream cone. Fantasmic left us in awe and stirred up so much nostalgia; we couldn’t wait for our next day. (We literally came home, flopped on our bed and just relished in the amazing day that we had.)

We started the next morning off bright and early with threatening clouds in view. To our surprise, we had a rain-free day but had the cloud cover, which helped keep the temperature down. We went to Epcot and immediately split up. Steven went to stand in line for Soarin’ while I got the Fast Passes for Fast Track; we’re a well-oiled machine. (Like a Lincoln Continental. Holla!) Soarin’ is still one of my favorite rides, with the inspirational music in the background you really do feel like you can achieve anything. (Like hang gliding) I love how inspiring Disney World is. Steven hit up Mission Space (Yes a 27 year old went by himself and experienced what it’s like to go into space. And yes, my ride mates were a dad and his two sons, ages 6 and 8. Your point?) and we had to hit up the Imagination Station (you know the cheesy ride with the little, purple dinosaur) for Steven’s nostalgia. (Totally worth it.) Afterwards we took a jaunt through the countries. (And now I don’t have to take her anywhere! Genius.)
And then it was off to the mother ship: Magic Kingdom.
I love the other parks and their attractions but there’s just something about the Magic Kingdom, almost a tangible feeling, especially when they’re putting up Fall/Halloween decor.
Readers, it really is hard to qualify the feelings that you feel whilst in this park. It’s excitement, giddiness, anticipation and the overall feeling and carefreeness…ness? Carefreeness…ity. Not having a care in the world. There we go.
We saw everything and loved it all. We even made a special stop to recreate a childhood moment:

One of the highlights was waiting 5 min. for Splash Mountain, getting to ride in the front and having our own log.

The ultimate ending to the entire trip was standing with my sweetheart, reverted back to young children, watching the parade go by with the castle lit up in the background and fireworks shooting off to the instrumental version of “When You Wish Upon a Star.” We’re just two kids at heart and loved tromping around hand-in-hand.

I think we both look a little psychotic and sweaty in this picture, but we were so happy.

Happy Birthday Sweetheart.
Best. Trip. Ever.

How fun! I love the Magic Kingdom, too. You didn’t like Everest? I thought Sasquatch was freakin’ scary right before you go backwards.
