Move Over, Bob Villa

Oh hi there readers! I’m just getting back from a little DIY project Wife and I did. Nothing big, just hooking up the specs on the rotary, um… girders….. ah, I’m retarded.

Truth be told readers, when it comes to home projects and craft thingies I usually leave those in the capable hands of Wife. I do admit readers that each time I attempt something that’s even slightly crafty I do have the following train of thought,

“Maybe this is it! This is the creative outlet my soul has been searching for! All I needed was some macaroni and some string! I am going to be so famous!”

Of course the project goes from glisteningly perfect in my brain to pile of donkey turd in my hands. There’s just some disconnect there that just ain’t happening. But readers, perhaps there is hope. Behold.

What you see before you readers, is a blank canvas. The window that I’ve been looking for. A way to get uber famous in a short amount of time! Wife and I have had this particular bookcase for awhile now and haven’t done much with it. But when our first guests stopped by, my mother had a passing comment of “Why don’t you put some feet on it?”

Genius.

So after a particularly girly Saturday, (Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2:Electric Boogaloo AND Sweet Tomatoes. Why yes, readers I am that sensitive. Little tip for the single gents reading. Pinch your skin from your pocket and presto, instant tears. Works every time.) Wife and I stopped by Lowe’s and picked out some beauties. Quick paint job later and viola!

Pretty swanky if I do say so myself. Readers I have found my calling. I’m going to put feet on things that do not have them. Kinda like that guy that puts the googly eyes on plants. Except way more lucrative. WIfe and I are pleased with the results and especially pleased that you can see the results whilst laying on our amazing couch. You should come see for yourself!

Editor’s note: The bookshelf may appear to be leaning inthe picture. While that is an easy assumption to make (I did do the drilling after all) I assure you that it is indeed level.

The instant I finished reading this, I looked over at our nearly-identical black bookcase and thought, Hmm, maybe OURS needs feet!
But the following thought was this: feet would pick the bookcase up off the ground. That would make a perfect hiding place for Katelyn’s toys to go and die and never be found. Maybe I should just admire your footing skills.

And to think, you did it all with a pink toolset…
