Readers who know me, know I like 4 things: Wife, spicy Mexican Food. Neil Diamond, and Volleyball. Now over the years, friends and relatives have witnessed the birth of leet vball. The hardcore, every Saturday playing volleyball till Brad Packer insists Dan Francom run full steam into his back to “motivate” him.  Now aside from spectacular plays (mostly from Brad Packer) certain terms have arisen amongst the core players.

And now a reading from the dictionary of leet volleyball in no particular order.

Tiffany Robbins: noun Serving the ball and watching how pretty it is only to have it returned back to you while you stare in wonder of the awesomeness of your serve.

Ryan Blick:  noun Saving a ball that’s going clearly out of bounds for the sake of continuing play. Many Ryan Blick’s resulted in Brad Packer leaping into the volleyball pole and bringing the entire net down. Excellence in motion.

Amanda Hansen: noun This is where the players runs at the ball with all intents of passing the ball only to kick it at the last minute whilst yelling “DANGIT!”

Dan Francom: noun Probably the most notorious play in leet vball. The player approaches the net in motions that would indicate that he/she is going to swing at the ball. At the very last minute, the player shifts his body, loses one of his man cards, and merely tips the ball four measly inches away.  Seriously Francom. Knock it off. Nobody likes a baby.

Brad Packer: noun On the flip side the Brad Packer is any sort of stellar playmaking, jumping, leaping, or falling on the ground as the play so dictates. Brad Packers are very rare in occurance and usually if not always are performed by Brad Packer. May also include mild to medium swearing under the breath.

Readers, I will greatly miss the times shared on the grassy plains of Kiwanis park.  All of you leeters, fly out to Raleigh and we shall play again. Here are some pictures.
