Wir haben eine unbedingt wunderbare Zeit am schönen Zermatt Zuflucht gehabt; es hat wahrheitsgemäß gefühlt, wie ein wegkommt.
Oh, I’m sorry. I was so immersed in mini-Switzerland I forgot what language I was typing in. For those readers who don’t read German, let me translate for you:
“We had an absolutely wonderful time at the beautiful Zermatt resort; it truly felt like a get away.”
Sunday evening, Steven’s aunt called with an incredible offer: a free nights stay at the Zermatt Resort in Midway. Being the eldest, Dan & Tammy were offered first and unfortunately were not able to make it work in their schedules, which translates into “Cha-Ching, Bow Chica Wow Wow” for Steven and me.
Monday evening, we cruised up the canyon with the radio off and just enjoyed one another’s company. Upon arriving at The Zermatt, we were greeted with iconic architecture, music and foliage that would be found in a quaint Swiss town. After checking into our room, we headed for dinner at the resort’s bistro. The food was delicious and a bonus for us, we had a coupon for a free dessert, which entitled us to try THE BEST chocolate cake I’ve ever had! Just imagine dense, rich layers of chocolaty goodness piled on top of one another. So good in fact, I found myself asking the waitress if I could get the recipe. Shameless. I know. But it was that good. She let me know the pastry/bakery shop next door actually makes it and I could go ask them. So what do you think I did?
The next morning, Steven and I went to the pastry shop and split a muffin and fresh OJ for breakfast, but before we left, I asked the gal at the counter if I could have or buy the recipe. She went back to the head baker and he said if I gave him my email he would email me the recipe! (Insert “Yes” kick) Steven and I took bets if I would really receive the recipe. My inbox still lacks the illumination of the awaiting mail, BUT if it is sent, I will share.
So, thanks to Lew & Barb for providing our last, romantic get away in the mountains before we move. It was delightful.

I love the area up there. We’ve actually stayed a bit further north, at the Homestead Resort, a few times and just never wanted to leave! Who knew Utah could be so awesome? Glad you had a good time!

I’m most definitely still a T-mobile user, so I’ll give you a call soon–if you happen to be busy with packing, etc. then don’t worry about it!
