If you couldn’t tell by Steven’s post releasing our BIG NEWS, we are extremely thrilled to be moving to the “Tarheel” and “Old North” State of North Carolina. Granted, I was hoping for a little bit cooler of a “State Nickname” but then again not everyone can be the “Sooner State.”
In one breath, it really feels like we’re moving; everything is slowly but surely falling into place. We’ve finalized the movers; they’ve dropped off the boxes and we already have 3 boxes packed. The car shippers are scheduled and paid. We’re debating on our flights and have our hotel chosen until our apartment becomes available; and yes, we even have our apartment finalized all done via the Internet…thanks Al Gore, it wouldn’t have been possible without your help. Our notice has been given at work and I’m even interviewing a gal this afternoon that quite possibly could take my place.
Now, with all of that being said and our daily conversation constantly dangling on the subject you would think it feels real. Truth be told, I don’t think it will feel like we’ve really moved across the country and are living in North Carolina until a couple of months have passed of vacaying in the “Tarheel/Old North State”
But anytime I need a pick-me-up a work I just take a gander at these little darlin’s:

Living room looking towards the entry

Living room with French doors to the patio

Dining room…check out the BIG windows, they’ll be nice after living in a basement

Looking into the kitchen

Kitchen with counter space galore

Master bedroom (not the best angle there are a couple of more pics. on the website but wanted to spare you the details)

Master garden tub…we’re really excited for this

Guest bedroom

Guest bedroom

Guest bathroom

Our patio
The best part about all of this isn’t having a place reserved or having the extra room or even the slate back splash in the kitchen. The BEST part about having THIS apartment is knowing that NO ONE or ANIMAL has EVER lived in it before! Southern Oaks at Davis Park (the apartment complex) was built in 2007. This apartment has been used as a model apartment until most recently when it has been rented to us. Now, the walls have already been painted back to off-white and all of the furniture will be gone. Too bad, I know, I guess faux dinosaur egg art just isn’t my cup of tea.
Moral of the story, we’re elated and will have an extra bedroom and bathroom for frequent visitors. Oh, and don’t worry…I’m sure we’ll have a Crib’s video rendition to showcase this apartment too.

WOW! That is so nice. I can’t wait to see it in person. It will look even better than it did in those pictures once Momma takes over!
