The Nerd a.k.a. Scary Flashback of My High School Years

March 17th, 2008 by Steven · 2 Comments

After an amazing interesting eventful week in Billings, I was very excited to have a weekend with my sweetie. We slept in, my wife made me breakfast in bed, and we loved just being with each other again. That evening we got an opportunity to see the youngest Cramer, Bobbo, in a play. We fired up Teyshaun and true to my word I slung the entire camera bag with our little one safe inside in hopes of taking him for a test drive.

We returned to my alma mater, Cottonwood High School. Now readers, to firmly demolish any shred of dignity that I may have acquired from you upon reading my ramblings, allow me to reminisce. Readers, I was a band geek. Yes. I am coming clean. I played in the band. Trumpet. Yup. Oh but it doesn’t stop there, readers. I was band PRESIDENT! Yes, President! Ruler of all the prepubescent dweebs, nerds, and lamewads! They would rally under my voice-cracking cry and do my bidding! So needless to say that returning to that hallowed ground was a bit of a trip for me.

Now that I have offended all of you allow me to praise my little brother. (Hmmm. Probably should have done before I revealed my deep dark secrets. Sorry Bobbo!) Readers, this play was incredible. The very fact that this cast go an entire two hours without tripping over their feet is beyond my capability. They put on “The Nerd” a freakishly accurate dipiction of my earlier years. I didn’t know whether I should laugh or weep uncontrollably. Thankfully I did much of the former. I did my first attempt at the camera and present a few shots for your critique. But before I showcase these pictures a disclaimer: Readers, that is cottage cheese. Yes. Cottage Cheese. Go crazy with speculation.

Good job Bobbo! You smelled disgusting but you warmed our hearts.

Sort of.
