Celebrate Good Times Come On

January 6th, 2008 by Steven · No Comments

We celebrated our anniversary, celebrity style spanning over a couple of days. On our actual anniversary, the 3rd, we started it off by sleeping in late and cuddling. My beautiful wife got up and made some delicious cranberry muffins and a toast with milk.

It’s a one!

So many of you think that we really can’t beat our anniversary present of a brand new car payment. But I gave it a valiant effort. In the planning scheme, I selfishly took the meal portion and the lodging (unbeknownst to Eb) So the day after our anniversary we got all dressed up and took our new ride out on the town. Due to Eb’s uncanny ability to guess any surprise that I have up my sleeve I kept mum for most of the trip. But, just as I thought, as soon as we neared our destination, she knew exactly where we were going. We stepped into the Melting Pot and treated ourselves to a decadent dinner. (Oh and just a side note; I knew that Eb had gotten a free dessert coupon from MP so I tapped into her email account only to find that she had already printed her coupon. A quick email to their support got me a free reprint. Booyah.)  After a delicous meal we hopped into our ride and went off to our destination for the evening.

Now beofre we go into details of our lodging, let me bless you with a little knowledge.  We had always wanted to go to the Anniversary Inn to see what it would be like. I mean nothing too crazy like a Pharoh’s tomb or space ship or anything like that but check out this place! At first, we were laughing hysterically at the ummm “eccentric” design but we really did have a lot of fun.

So now you’ve got a little idea of what the room’s like. Let’s recount the experience we open the door to all the lights on and MICHAEL BOLTON playing from the speakers. Needless to say, a rousing success. A further tour of the pad revealed that our bed was amongst the trees and we had our own personal waterfall!!Awesome.

Nothing says Bow-chica-wah-wah like a personal waterfall

Needless to say, we LOVED every minute of it. More pictures for you to drool over.

Jealous much?

The next day we enjoyed a delicious breakfast delivered to our room. We packed our stuff and headed off for my last surprise. I told Eb that we were going shoe shopping for her and we went to Trolley Square just a couple of blocks away. What she didn’t know is I had gotten some stationary for her (because it’s the traditional 1 yr. anniversary present) and we went and picked it up. I’m such a romantic. :)

Little did I know that Eb had one more surprise for me. Later that night she presented me with an EXACT recreation of the top layer of our wedding cake because we ate ours on our 1 yr. dating anniversary!! It was surreal! From Carrie’s Cakes! I mean it looked exactly like the one we had just one year before. It was amazing and so thoughtful of my wife to think of that. I am so lucky. We toasted on some bubbly and looked forward to the years ahead! More pictures for you!

Had to McGuyver the bubbly
