At work, we were brought a pumpkin to carve/decorate for a contest a local credit union was hosting. I gladly volunteered to bring it home. We were planning on going to a real pumpkin patch (like we do in Okie town) to pick out Steven’s pumpkin but A: the weather was snowy and cold and B: the closest thing to a “real” pumpkin patch around here is a trip to the grocery store or down the street to the house where this guy sells them from his front yard.
The Saturday before Halloween we also went to Gardner Village; it was so fun because they had life-size witches every where…one witch was riding a bike, mid-air, over a pond. Halloween night we decided to rent a “scary” Alfred Hitchcock movie, which really wasn’t too scary, and make pumpkin oreo milkshakes. Then, we were going to go to our friends’ (Heather and Fuj) costume dance party. We got about 2/3 the way through our holiday plans before I got the weirdest stomach bug (and NO I’m not pregnant). All I remember from the evening was saying “I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry” to Steven because we were both so excited to go to the party. My mom sent me out the costumes she and my dad wore when they were newlyweds…I guess they’ll just have to wait until next year.

I was so proud of Steven for FREE handing his pumpkin! Tracing is for wusses!

I really don’t like clowns too much, I actually think they’re kind of freaky…but I figured this would stay the freshest at the office (since the guy gave us a 5 day window of when he would come judge the pumpkins)

Sticking the pipe-cleaners in was a labor of love…I did it with my pink screw driver (thanks to Hannah, that Pink tool set has REALLY come in handy!)
